Asa Vermette Wins The Gold In The Junior Downhill World Champs
Well there you have it folks!
Asa Vermette goes fastest in Vallnord, Andorra at the UCI DH Junior World Champs. The track in Andorra is well-known to be loose, fast, and dusty. The riders faced massive berms and booter jumps in the top section, followed by gnarly rock gardens, ducking and diving between the trees while traversing along the mountainside!
This young gun put down a stormer of a run. Asa battled with a slower start, placing him 14th at split 1, but improving to 7th by split 2. He clawed back more time on the steeper slopes of the lower track, crossing the line in 2 minutes and 39 seconds—1.5 seconds faster than Max Alran, who took second. Asa also won in qualifying!
Neko Mulally is the founder and captain of the team, racing on their own Frameworks bikes. These bikes are built with both aluminum and carbon—aluminum front triangle and a carbon rear triangle. Asa and the Frameworks Racing Team use Spank components to build their cockpit, riding Spank’s Spike 35 Vibrocore Bar and Spank Limited Edition DM 40 Stem. Asa also rides with a Spank Limited Edition Frameworks Saddle.

If there was one rider to keep a close eye on as they progress into the Elite field — Asa Vermette would be the one. Racing in both downhill and enduro, he already puts down race times fast enough to beat top elite racers like Richie Rude, Greg Minnaar, Joe Breeden, and Jackson Goldstone. This is a man who truly loves having fun on a bike and riding as fast as humanly possible.
A massive congratulations on your World Championship Win, Asa Vermette!
